Director of Career Services
Ontario Campus

“Everyone starts somewhere. Take the job in your field even if it means waking up a bit earlier or driving a bit farther. That first year of experience is critical. Your dreams can become reality if you have the courage and the skills to pursue them!”

With a degree in graphic design from Platt College, John has worked at Platt College for the last 10 years and credits his success in Career Services to both his dedicated team and their collective “open door” policy. The policy promotes engaging with every student from day one — and not simply as graduation approaches — which gives the team unique and important insights into each student’s strengths and weaknesses and enables them to work with students throughout their educational journeys. John’s advice to those entering the job market: “Everyone starts somewhere. Take the job in your field even if it means waking up a bit earlier or driving a bit farther. That first year of experience is critical. Your dreams can become reality if you have the courage and the skills to pursue them!”

Career Services

A primary goal of Platt College is to assist all graduates in their job search in the field for which they have been trained.

The school maintains an active career services department to assist graduates as well as current students seeking part-time or full-time jobs while attending school. However, the school cannot guarantee employment.

Students are given the opportunity to pursue job referrals maintained by Career Services.

Our Career Services personnel explain and assist with our student’s job search process. Placement efforts occur through graduation and beyond.

Career Services aims to build the job acquiring skills of our students through interviews and workshops in the following areas:

  • Career planning
  • Resume and cover letter writing
  • Completing applications
  • Researching and contacting potential employers
