What kind of training do I need to successfully work in the health care field?

Most employers will prefer graduates of formal and specific medical-related programs. A specialized training program in medical assisting and medical administrative specialists will provide you with solid clinical and administrative training and prepare you for an entry-level career opportunity with health care providers.

Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant

Under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistants typically work with clients with injury, illness and/or disability. Working in such settings as hospitals, clinics, public schools, and private homes, Occupational Therapy Assistants make environmental and task-related adaptations for their clients to enable them to effectively master the activities of daily life.

Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration (Degree Complete)

Platt College School of Medical Sciences offers a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration that helps students gain the skills they need to pursue leadership positions in the health care field.

Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting

Medical Assistants are multi-talented Health Care industry professionals skilled in performing routine clinical and administrative procedures for physician’s offices, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, and other health care facilities.

Associate's Degree in Medical Administrative Specialist

Medical Administrative Specialists are an essential part of the health-care office. Medical Administrative Specialists perform a variety of tasks necessary to running a smooth, effective medical office.

Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Platt College’s Respiratory Therapy program prepares graduates to pursue careers in Respiratory Therapy, a dynamic specialty area in the rapidly-expanding health care field.

Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology

The Veterinary Technology Program at the Platt School of Medical Sciences is specifically designed to provide in-depth study and training necessary to gain entry-level employment in animal health care.

Associate's and Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasound) program at the Platt School of Medical Sciences is designed to prepare graduates to pursue careers in Sonography, a dynamic specialty area in the rapidly-expanding health care field.

Associate's and Diploma Degree in Vocational Nursing

The Vocational Nursing Program provides students with the theory, interpersonal, laboratory skills and clinical experience to prepare them for a career as a vocational nurse.

Except as expressly provided in California Education Code Section 94898, Platt College reserves the right to modify policies, course schedules, curricula or courses within reason due to exigent circumstances, program upgrades and/or content changes, and to cancel programs of study, modes of delivery, upcoming start dates or individual courses as it deems necessary. If a course or program is canceled, the school may schedule course completion at a later date or refund all monies paid for the canceled course or program if the student does not wish to continue with the program at the later date.
