PL175 - Bankruptcy
This course is designed to provide students with an overview of both substantive and procedural areas of bankruptcy law with emphasis on consumer bankruptcy law under chapter seven. It will include an introduction of the law of bankruptcy in both the consumer and business areas and provide practical instruction as to the application of bankruptcy law with the intent to providing students the opportunity to become comfortable and familiar with the actual practice of bankruptcy law. Students will be introduced to concepts such as jurisdiction of the Bankruptcy Court, forms of creditors, liens, security interest, automatic stay, exemptions and avoiding powers. (50 Hours)
