MA156 - Medical Asepsis / Physical Therapy
Medical asepsis is defined and discussed including Universal Blood and Body Fluid Precautions, OSHA requirements, and appropriate use and disposal of barriers. Students learn basic treatment of common injuries using hot and cold packs, ultrasound, hydrotherapy, and ultraviolet lamps. Range of motion exercises, ambulating aids, and patient wheelchair transfers are demonstrated. Students will practice vital signs, venipunctures and injections. Students will develop typing and 10-key skills along with word processing skills. (50 hours)
