MAS106 – Human Resources and Risk Management
This course introduces the student to human resources and risk management in the medical environment. Students will be introduced to basic human resource functions including classifying and reclassifying existing positions, interviewing and hiring employees, counseling employees, benefits, work hours and overtime, and the like. Students will learn to identify the sources of liability in an office based medical practice, specify strategies to reduce exposure to office liability, discuss various methods to address compliance issues related to an office based medical practice and describe liability issues related to employment in the office based medical practice. Students will develop typing and 10-key skills along with word processing skills.
