MAS156 – Diagnostic, Procedural and HCPCS Coding

This course is designed to introduce students to coding and classification systems and nomenclatures, indexes, registers and registries as well as the basic principles and uses of each. Students will learn coding techniques using the International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM), the CPT coding manual, and HCPCS.  Students will develop typing and 10-key skills along with word processing skills.
