About Medical Assisting

  • Medical Assisting

    Earn your Associates degree in Medical Assisting

Medical Assistants are integral to the day-to-day operations of a medical office.

Medical Assistants provide critical clinical services to patients, usually in the back office and lab areas, helping to prepare patients for examinations and assisting physicians.

You can earn your Associates degree in Medical Assisting in as little as 15 months!

Duties of a medical assistant include:

  • Take medical histories
  • Record vital signs
  • Assist the physician during examinations
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Prepare and administer medications
  • Authorize prescription orders
